I currently run a program called the Hazard Education, Awareness and Resilience Task Force (HEART Force), that empowers rural secondary students and teachers to take action to make their community more resilient to wildfire, flood, and drought. I primarily work in formal classroom settings, writing curriculum and supporting teachers. I live in Gunnison, and love working with rural communities and bridging gaps between classrooms, local emergency planners, and government. I am interested in learning more about how to center social and environmental justice in our work, and social emotional practices to address mental health challenges.
